2nd Day of Blogmas
Hi All! For the second day of our blogmas series we are going to be taking a look at Jeremiah 1:5-10.
5 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew[a] you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”
6 “Alas, Sovereign Lord,” I said, “I do not know how to speak; I am too young.”
7 But the Lord said to me, “Do not say, ‘I am too young.’ You must go to everyone I send you to and say whatever I command you. 8 Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you and will rescue you,” declares the Lord.
9 Then the Lord reached out his hand and touched my mouth and said to me, “I have put my words in your mouth. 10 See, today I appoint you over nations and kingdoms to uproot and tear down, to destroy and overthrow, to build and to plant.”
For those who don't know, Jeremiah was a prophet in the Old Testament. In verses 5-10, Jeremiah talks about how God first called him to serve. The verses show that Jeremiah was very afraid of becoming a prophet because he was scared of being too young and not having enough experience. The Lord tells Jeremiah that he is never alone and that God is ALWAYS with him.
One of the coolest things about the Bible is how we can apply it to our lives even though it was written hundreds of years ago! We can definitely apply these verses to our lives as many of us are afraid of serving the Lord because we fear that we won't say the right things or simply that we are too young to serve Him, just like Jeremiah thought. But just like Jeremiah, God has called us to do more than we think we are capable of! This week, I challenge you to pray that you will unlock your full potential as a Christian and serve God in amazing ways!
